Larry J's Story
I attended grade school at Waynesburg, Ky and Eubank, ky. During my high school yrs. I attended three different schools, Norwood High, Memorial High, and I graduated at Eubank High in 1961. A few months before graduation I enlisted in the Army National Guards. A few weeks after school was over I left for 6 months Basic Training in the Military. I stayed in the Guards 6 years and 2 years in the reserves.
In 1962 I went to work for a Plumbing Co. in Lexington, Ky.
I met Linda Davis in 1964. She was in the Class of 1965 at Eubank High. Linda and I were married in 1966. We moved to Spindletop Farm in Lexington, Ky where I worked in maintenance for UK at Spindletop Farm, Coldstream Farm, and Spindletop Hall.
I took the Ky State Journeyman Plumbers Test and got my license in late 1967. I started working for a Plumbing Co. in Lexington as a Journeyman Plumber. In 1971 I got my Masters License. I worked in that profession until 1982 and then started my own Plumbing Co. in Lexington. Ky. I retired in 2006 but in 2019, I am still ...Expand for more
working in the Co. 1 to 3 days a week.
Linda is a retired Banker. In 1999,Linda and I moved back to Pulaski Co. to our newly remodeled home on 5 acres.
We do not have any children.
On April 26, 2021 I completely retired from my Plumbing Co. after 39 years and serving as a plumber for 54 years.
I now spend a lot of my time working on Ancestry and Findagrave.com ( my contributor no. 47591794 ). I enjoy going out and doing photos.
I don't know whether anyone remembers me at Norwood High, freshman year 1957- 1958. I attended as a freshman only in November and December and then went back to Memorial High and finished my freshman year, then finished my other 3 years at Eubank High.
In physical education class at Norwood High I was the kid from Kentucky that could shoot the basketball from one goal to the other in the training gym and making the basket at times ( I never played basket ball in high school ) This gym was of course a shorter distance in length than the official one.
I wish I could remember all of you there.
